Its okay, but a bit planet Radio 4. All that wordplay - you can't help feeling the people involved would rather be doing the The Times crossword with a cup of cocoa.

Look at the dogging sites, its more Fred West's sort of read than Stephen Fry's.

FA's lyrics for
DOGGING:
My husband came home Friday with a brand new motor car.
He told me I could drive it I said Brian you're a star.
We drove down to the boozer for a vodka and a fag then
of course we had celebrate the purchase with a shag.

We'd go dogging
We'd go dogging
We're a treat for any passersby out jogging.
We do it cos we've found that when people crowd around
it is somehow more profound when your dogging.

(Spoken)
Oh now well some of the older members of the audience
my have a little bit of difficulty with this one.
I just say hang on in there and think the meaning will shine through.
Bill how are you doing?
Anyhow if you are still a little bit in the dark at the end.
Just ask a young person or emm...Google.
Just don't take your computer for repair immediately afterwards.Or delete the History.

(Sung)
Well we drove down to the far end of the car park back of Asda.
A threesome was hard at it in a sporty little Mazda.
It made it more exciting as they pressed against the glass.
And when Brian got his torch out you could see right up her arse.

They were dogging
They were dogging
Believe me they were more than merely snogging.
But though her cheek were parted she spoilt it when
she farted and we wanted to get started on OUR dogging.

(Spoken)
Now how are the older members doing now.
Not finding it too impenetrable.
Those of a sensitive disposition...leave now.

(Sung)
Well we rushed back too our car 'cos we were randy as two goats.
But being late November we had on our duffle coats.
We should have stripped off first before getting back inside.
'cos disrobing in a Smartcar isn't easy, have YOU tried?

We were dogging
We were dogging
In the struggle poor old Brian tore his frogging.
Our Aparal was misguided cos when our heads collided
Brian's manhood then subsided but that's dogging.

Well I admit this was a set back but i wasn't beaten
yet. 'Cos I'm really very handy with my man's beef bayonet.
I quickly had his flypole up responding to my touch.
And next thing I was upside down and staring at the clutch.

We were dogging
We were dogging
The heat was on to stop the windows fogging.
Thank God for plastic sheeting well one must protect the seating.
Cos the fabric takes a beating when your dogging.

Well by now a crowd had gatherd it was cheering fit to burst.
An Bri was close to peaking, though he likes me to come first.
My legs were out the sunroof as I really hit my stride.
Then Brian promptly stopped and cried THE ROZZERS ARE OUTSIDE.

We were dogging
We were dogging
We were so alarmed our arterys were clogging.
But we took it on chin when the copper with a grin said.
Can anyone join in with your dogging?
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Well as you can imagine Bri and I were thrilled to bits.
I love to feel a coppers truncheon in between my tits.
My ecstacy was mounting i was feeling so alive.
When who should wander by but a bloke from channel 5.

He likes dogging
HE likes dogging
He signed us for a series he was flogging.
So watch out for Bri and me and the odd Celebrity.
We were shagging on TV likely dogging.

Oh we'll be dogging
we'll be dogging
Oh Think of all the lime light we'll be hogging
Well the credits show my hand massaging Brian's Gland
The Presenter: Russell Brand lovely dogging.

I suppose that's the difference with derbyshire girls - they thought it was a bit of a compliment - which I suppose it was really.

It was when u used the word "prurient" it took me back to the song.

I understand your sentiments re the ladies , i have been asked NOT to sing a song called ""The Hanky" by Davie Robertson by one or two ladies with a weak stomach
BTW i met a Brazilian dancer who didnt know what a Brazilian was and when she eventaully realised she hasnt spoken to me since. not a geat loss hee hee

I wrote Hairy Mary in Derbyshire, where several women thought I'd written it about them personally. I'm not sure I've sung it since living round here.

I write stuff all the time and perform it once or twice - unless it seems to register with people. Sometimes it registers with people and I get it requested - but I drop it anyway. Like th Portland song about the fact that Portlanders never use the word 'Rabbit'. A Portlander told me I'd get lynched if I sung it on Portland and so I've chickened out of that one.

Lets put it another way. We had a road round our way called rhodedendron mile. The bushes have all been cut down because of dogging. there is a wild cat prowling round the local villages - dozens of sightings. The Dorset Echo is a daily compendium of scary happenings.

Yet all the arts council monsense is about Thomas hardy, the first world war and smuggling in the 18th century and all those up to the minute songs about the preaa gang and being transported for poaching.

Most of the folk revival happened in an annexe of Downton Abbey or the Edinburgh Woolshop, in costumes furmished by Laura Ashley.

My language is blunt by design and springs from a desire to communicate. No one is in any doubt as to what my songs are about.

I admire the subtlety of your prose.

But it could be subtler.

Attempts at humour ought to be left to those who have the talent

Big Al has balls if nothing else

The first I heard of dogging was in a Hitching Tale told by a fellow traveller in Charnock Richard service station (I think) back around 1985. The tale went that he was picked up by a lady of a certain age who suggested a bit of carnal fun up a nearby country lane. Only too happy to oblige, it was only halfway (?) through the procedure than he became aware that they had an audience. On pointing this out to his brief-encounter, she merely laughed it off and urged him to continue with his erotic inventiveness - for their entertainment as much as hers. Naturally our hero lost it, and in her despair she drove him back to Charnock Richard (or wherever it was) to look for another unsuspecting victim.

True? Well so many hitching tales exist as FOAFlore, but this was in the first person and told with such a self-depracting honesty that I was convinced... But then again, as a lover of folklore & storytelling, I tend to 'believe' pretty much everything I hear, in the same sense as 'believing' an episode of Star Trek. I'm sure there's a song in there somewhere, though I don't think at any point the term 'dogging' was mentioned, which I first heard in an episode of a TV cop show (55 Degrees North) whereas now these days the folklore is very well established, if not the events themselves which are a regular feature of the seamier sort of TV show such as Shameless. Who knows? Maybe there'll be an article in a future Fortean Times.

F---ing hell! Dogging in Derbyshire! That's worth another song!
The Derbyshire Dogger!

Someone was asking for sessions in Deryshire, is Bonsall still going on a Friday night? All best wishes.

And now something up to the minute - a variant of the clog cleaners hornpipe from 1902 - not the famous one, that everyone knows!

nah!   I just played it to some friends and a plumber who dropped by. I haven't been out playing for a month - confined to quarters taking care of denise after a knee replacement of a knee replacement op. Needless to say neither of the friends or the plumber, had actually heard of the term 'dogging'.

I thought I'd put it on here to see if the term was in general use - or is it something made up by prurient Daily Mail type newspapers?

Best wishes to you Al and your family, are you coming over here at all?

Dogging

Chorus
Oh Dogging! Dogging! I do love dogging!
I like watching other folk snogging
Deep in the woods, or outside Tesco
If you fancy sex alfresco
I'm your local voyeur
You'll be glad i saw yer, cos
I'm a dogger (x6)
I'm a dirty old bogger!

1)
Come all ye bold ex-high-bitionists
Come gather ound round and list
All you who enjoy showing off
With your girlfriend, or your fist.
Now some have called me a peeping Tom
That's something I am not
I don't merely want a peep.
You can show me all the lot,cos.......

2)
Now if you go down in the woods today
No one's all that surprised
Cos there's 'usbands, wives, granddads, grannies
And me there checking out all the fannies
I said I'm dogging! I'm dogging! I wanna watch
I'm dogging now please don't scoff
They said, You wanna watch, try Sekonda,
Now fer Crissake – bugger off!
