I'm learning this song at the minute, but I'm not sure which air is the most accurate in the traditional version.

On YouTube there is a great version at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDvab9Br3Zw and then there's the Jimmy Crowley and Máirtín de Cogáin one. I'd love to do it right!

Not sure that "accurate in the traditional version" means a lot here but FWIW, that YouTube version is Ron Kavana taking a pretty free approach to the air. Some of his variations would be a little unusual, to my ear. Great voice, though!

I thought it was a different version to the one I'd heard by my mother when I was younger alright. The Crowley / de Cógáin version, as far as I recall, was closer to hers and because I like to sing in her style as much as I can for sentimental reasons I'll probably stick with the two lads. But that Kavanagh version is beautiful too, never heard of him before but I have now!
