Enjoy a rare chance to hear John Roberts, one of the most entertaining performers of traditional song. John is cherished as a source of many a great song, gleaned in years of being active in continuing tradition. Cleveland is not noted for being a great place to hear or support traditional music, but I believe there ARE some people in the area who love this music (and this performer) as much as I do. Please come out for an early weeknight concert in a cosy house with a great history of memorable house concerts.

What he OUGHT to have said is that he's done several house concerts there, in different lineups: Cooper & Nelson, Cooper, Nelson & Early, and most recently February Sky. He's one of a number of highly regarded performers who've played Sue's house over the decades: Deb Cowan, Cindy Mangsen & Steve Gillette, Anne Hills, Sandy & Caroline Paton... it's a long list.

Thanks for the endorsements. I hope this will bring some more audience out to see John.
I think Matt Watroba and his wife Kim will make the trip out from Kent- I saw them at the Kent State Folk festival. He's been working at WKSU for some months now, and has yet to try the folklife in Cleveland. (And was also delighted to hear that John is coming this way.)

It is with great regret that I must report that the Cleveland house concert with John Roberts has had to be cancelled due to lack of reservations. John, ever the gentleman, has promised that we'll try again, with a bit more time to rally the faithful to come.

I'm listening to a Noel Sing we Clear album now and trying not to feel like a kid whose Christmas presents all got stolen.

So sorry to hear that Joanne. I know the feeling - we have a house concert lined up for this Saturday and have about four people so far with maybe one or two more as possibles. It can really get you down!

I've had some really intimate house concerts in my time.(10 people?) Very disappointing.
