Subject: RE: Chord Req: Doc Watson's Guitar Style From: Will Fly Date: 13 Oct 11 - 06:55 AM I've never seen or heard Doc do a trill but, in my experience, trills are made on a guitar by hitting the string once with the picking hand, and then hammering on and pulling off a couple of frets above the hit note - but using the fretting hand. so, it's not a case of using a thumb and finger or not - you could do it with just a pick - the technique is in the fretting hand. |

Subject: Chord Req: Doc Watson's Guitar Style From: GUEST,Duke Date: 12 Oct 11 - 04:05 PM I was wondering if anyone could tell me how Doc Watson does a trill with only his thumb and one finger? I saw him explain it many years ago but have forgotten how to do it. thanks duke |
