Just had the great big pleasure of catching up with Seamus again after not seeing him for 5 years. It was great meeting him again, and this time he brought the entire clan, his lovely wife Dona, son Matthew, daughter-in-law Anne and 5-month-old granddaughter Ester.

Seamus made his Danish debut at a small venue here in Århus called Salonen, and everybody present had a great time. The organizer of the venue is Jacob Venndt, another multi-talent, and the two of them got on like a house on fire, as can be seen in this video of the two whizzing through Sweet Georgia Brown. I have more video which will go online as time permits.

Bente - it was great seeing you again. Thanks for contributing to a wonderful evening. Folks, Jacob Venndt is one of the most talented musicians I have ever met. His chromatic harmonica playing is on a par with Toots Thielemann, Tommy Reilly, Max Geldray and Larry Adler. His band - the Dixieland Gypsy Band is also really excellent. Check them out! Don't have link right now, but I'm sure Mr. Google could help.

Bruce, I suppose I could have alerted the customs authorities, but I thought it would be a bit tough for Seamus to be turned away at the border when he was here to see his first granddaughter for the very first time.. I'm not that mean ;-) 'sides, I wanted to see him again, sooooooooo...

Seamus Kennedy was here again - and I have the T-shirt to prove it (thanks for the gift, Seamus :-))

Had a great evening Sunday a week ago, but haven't had the time to sort through the video till now. Videos are online here. San Antonio Rose and Ghost Riders in the Sky also feature the host of the venue, Jacob Venndt.

Thanks, Bente, it was great seeing you again, and having Jacob play along on a couple of tunes. That boy is amazing!! I'm gonna try and see if I help him set up a few gigs here in the US with the Dixieland Gipsy Band. They are brilliant. If you like Django and Stephane, check them out.
