I bought a bunch of old time music online. Just got a batch today in the mail. One is a minstrel CD of stuff from the 10s and early 20s before electric recordings. Really cool stuff. There's a couple of songs by Wendall Hall and the link below is one of them. What strikes me is that this stuff is pure 50s hillbilly bop. I have obscure 50s compilations with stuff just like this on it. There's another song on this CD called "Redheaded Music Maker" that is an even more blatant example.

This song below is from 1923. You wonder how guys like this missed receiving their due. This is clearly rocknroll:
