More sad news I'm afraid, for all of us who were involved in the Greyhound Sessions in Maidstone.

Peter Brown rang me this evening and asked me to pass on the news that Ronnie died yesterday, of cancer.

Her funeral will take place on November 8th (her birthday) in Amersham. Peter is understandably distraught, and I didn't get any more detail than that.

He did say, however, that he will be staying with his daughter in Gillingham for a while and he is planning to visit the site of the Greyhound to leave a little tribute at 11.00am on November 11th.

Winnie and I intend to be there to keep him company.

We send to Peter and his family our deepest sympathy. Ronnie was a lovely lady and will be sorely missed.

Thanks John,

There's nothing formal, but I think that a few of us turning up will be a comfort to Pete. It's easy for Winnie and me, being retired, to do it, but any and all who can make it to stand on a street corner and reminisce will be welcome, I'm sure.

And maybe we'll take him down to the Style & Winch for a couple, for old times' sake.

Don T.
