I have just read that Johnny's November tour has been cancelled because of illness. Get well soon John, we will miss you this autumn but hope you will make a speedy recovery , sending love and healing thoughts

I don't know if Johnny is well known outside of Europe, but he is a wonderful performer and has been a stalwart on the UK folk circuit for as long as I can remember (which is a long time!).

Bloody cancer! One of our folk club members has just beaten it, only for another member to be diagnosed with it! Cancer Research UK is one of the few charities I donate to, in the hope that one day they'll come up with the 'magic bullet'. There are new drugs appearing every year and a lot of cancers are now curable thanks to new advances. Johnny has been our guest a few time and is always really positive and full of energy. That's half the battle - the other half is decent healthcare which I'm sure he's receiving. So best wishes Johnny and get well soon!

Have just had an e mail from Johnnny's agent, he was in hospital, I think still is, she is waiting to hear from his son for an update. I told her about mudacat and hope his son will print off these messages.Updates on Perrotts Folly web page.

Just picked up this thread - sorry to hear Johnny is not well.
He's been coming to our festival and club for as long as I can remember and he seems to to better each year. I know I can speak for all the members of Irvine Folk Club and your many friends in and around Irvine (Ayrshire ,Scotland)in wishing you "A' the best".
