Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Little Hawk Date: 01 Nov 11 - 11:03 PM It probably helps to watch in the off-hours, Bobert...like around 5 AM. ;-D Well, I am tickled pink at all the nice feedback here! We all sing our songs in hopes of sharing our music with others, so I'm very pleased to finally be able to share a reasonable chunk of it with Mudcat friends via the Net. Regarding Rapparee's legendary arsenal...Chongo advises me that it considerably outmatches his own. That's some serious firepower, folks! The question is, is Rap preparing for a new Iwo Jima? Or is he just an enthusiastic proponent of mayhem? Chongo says he is going to look further into it at some point, but for now all he can do is express his sincere admiration... |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Bobert Date: 01 Nov 11 - 08:44 PM Listened to "money and thr Gun"... Well done... My pudder is a tad slow so that took over 15 minutes to watch... Maybe I'll try again tomorrow to listen to more... B~ |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: olddude Date: 01 Nov 11 - 08:05 PM I was teasing and LH did a wonderful job, I love the song |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Monique Date: 01 Nov 11 - 06:52 PM I had to wait till this morning to watch it all because last night it played 5 seconds, stopped 10, played 3...It was a very enjoyable morning gift! |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: gnu Date: 01 Nov 11 - 06:40 PM OD! I don't have lots of guns. I have enough... a couple of old family-handed-down shotguns. No arsenal such as you and Rap. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: olddude Date: 01 Nov 11 - 06:20 PM Hey LH, me Rap and Gnu have lots of guns ... ya got money? :-) great job had to visit again Love it |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: YorkshireYankee Date: 01 Nov 11 - 06:09 PM LH -- I don't "converse" with you much, but I do see and enjoy a lot of posts by you (I won't say "most" because you are so prolific!), so I was delighted to have an opportunity to see & hear you talk, play & sing. My impression of a man of heart and integrity was completely confirmed (except that you look more like a kid than a "man"!). Thanks for the link! |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: gnu Date: 01 Nov 11 - 03:27 PM "Sometimes what you have to do is click "pause" and "play" repeatedly to get it to work." Well, there's a nasty remark awaiting for a poke in the humour bone but it's inappropriate so I'll let you off the hook on accounta that's some good shit man. Besides, Rap or Amos will likely get to it. >;-) Thanks, LH. Very enjoyable. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Janie Date: 31 Oct 11 - 08:38 PM It played very smoothly for me - no fuss-no muss. It was a real pleasure, LH! |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Crowhugger Date: 31 Oct 11 - 04:24 PM Maybe a second laptop? Anyway I still enjoyed your songs, which is the main thing! |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Little Hawk Date: 31 Oct 11 - 03:54 PM Yeah, Doc is working with various computerized stuff there, and it causes those delays. He can only record 1 song at a time on the laptop...then he has to set things up again for the next one...but the Internet streaming continues throughout, so it takes awhile before I can start the next song. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Crowhugger Date: 31 Oct 11 - 01:22 PM Thanks, Little Hawk, I really liked your set. I too had to click pause/play a couple of times to get the video rolling. Too bad there is so much down time between songs, it sort of pre-empts any real flow. Once I saw the length of the first down time I skipped over those breaks. As a result I missed some of your intros and simply took your songs at face value. Which was wonderful. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: olddude Date: 31 Oct 11 - 01:21 PM It is wonderful |

Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: GUEST,999 Date: 31 Oct 11 - 12:55 PM Yeah. That gets it to play. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Little Hawk Date: 31 Oct 11 - 11:59 AM Sometimes what you have to do is click "pause" and "play" repeatedly to get it to work. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 31 Oct 11 - 11:49 AM I tried two times, LH, but it didn't play. Don't think I don't care. |

Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: gnu Date: 30 Oct 11 - 09:38 PM SOB! I lost the feed but what I saw and heard was fantastic... I am gonna try to get it back and video it on accounta it's bedtime here. Great tune... I hope the remaining vid is even half as good. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: gnu Date: 30 Oct 11 - 09:32 PM I have it streaming but it's taking a while to.... oh... wait... maybe you are gonna sing now... yes... back later. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: GUEST,999 Date: 30 Oct 11 - 09:28 PM I'm listening to it now. "Everything in its proper place? I don't envy you coordinating it all." LOL |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Little Hawk Date: 30 Oct 11 - 09:20 PM I think it's archived for awhile. I'll have to get in touch with Doc and find out for how long. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: GUEST,999 Date: 30 Oct 11 - 08:59 PM Is the show archived for a day or two? |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: GUEST,999 Date: 30 Oct 11 - 08:56 PM Yo, bro. I was listening to Money and the Gun and trying to sign in (register). They ask a skill testing question (anti-spam thing) and I can't read the question because there's an ad covering it, I think. So, I can't post to the comment area. I was gonna say, "Good one, George. I really like that you say it, but I especially like it when you say it for those who can't for themselves." Bruce M PS Now I'm going back to listen. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Little Hawk Date: 30 Oct 11 - 08:45 PM Yeah, I figured you'd love that one, Lizzie. ;-) It's one of the very few songs where I sort of "talk" some of the lyrics, as opposed to singing them. |
Subject: RE: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Lizzie Cornish 1 Date: 30 Oct 11 - 08:34 PM Well, I'm sitting here really enjoying listening to you singing 'Money & The Gun', George, singing along with you...love the words! |
Subject: Little Hawk live at OpenFolk.Net From: Little Hawk Date: 30 Oct 11 - 08:11 PM My friend Doc Higgins runs a Sunday afternoon coffeehouse in Barrie, Ontario, and I did about an hour set there today. Doc has set up cameras to do live streaming of these performances on JustinTV, and you can see today's stuff here: LH at Open Folk The setup at Doc's requires a short break between songs so that he can do a separate recording of each song on his computer. This means there's a delay of maybe a minute or two before I start into the next song, and there's usually some casual chitchat among the audience and whoever else during those parts. It's a very relaxed atmosphere, just a group of friends who get together, so be patient...the next song will come when Doc is ready to start recording it. I did mostly originals, one Dylan song (My Back Pages), one Lynn Miles song (Cracked and Broken). I love Lynn Miles to pieces. |
