Phil, and Aly Bain were our headline concert guests at the 2011 Linlithgow Folk Festival ......which incidentally is one of the nominees in the Event of the Year category, so please vote for us too!

Hey, Eric, thanks mate! Nice to hear you. Life is good down here on the saltmarsh, we've just had that Gillian Anderson filming Great Expectations down yere.

Thanks for the heads-up on the In Confidence link, BTNG, what a great programme, and I agree, melodeonboy, what an all-round good guy he consistently comes across as. I met the great man a couple of times when they played at the Angel, in Brigg, and a nicer drinking buddy I have yet to come across.

Phil is a gem. I've seen him live a couple of times. A great musician and a talented racconteur. He's always come across, both live and on television, as such a genuine bloke too.

I don't usually get involved in this voting craze, unless it's a referendum or the like, but this particular hustings caught my eye.

The gongs for the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards are being dished out on 3rd December at Perth Concert Hall, and pre-eminent in the Trad Music in the Media section is the excellent 'The World Accordion to Phil' TV series. However, there is another contender in that section that Phil hopefully gets royalties from, but Phil needs your vote to get hold of this prestigious bling. It was a superb series, and coincidentally gave rise to the idea that became Black Diamond Accordions

The link to the polling booth is at the new and excellent Scottish Culture Online

All the best
Greg
