I finally made out most of the words, and what I couldn't understand I wrote new words. After all, isn't that the "folk process"?

The title Lily May Ledford used for the song with the Coon Creek Girls was Shortenin' Bread--note spelling. That may help with a search if no one has the lyrics to hand.

AR, I gotta hit the sack, but if no one answers this by tomorrow when I roust my bones out of bed, I'll have a try at locating the lyrics for you.

Would like to find the lyrics to Lily May Ledford's version of Shornin' Bread she sang with the Coon Creek Girls. Have to audio version, but can't make out all the words. Wonder if John Lair wrote the lyrics for the Coon Creek Girls. He re-wrote some some songs to fit their style. Thanks- AR
