Daughter suitably impressed that her old man of 66 years old was able to do it exactly as she wanted. Kudos :-)

Hi Will
Downloaded it and within a couple of minutes had loaded a song cut a portion of the song and created a new file. Dead easy.
Thanks for your great suggestion.
Les

Thanks very much Will. I will have a look at Audacity and see if I can do it. If not, I would love to take you up on your kind offer.

Audacity is free - allows cuts and fades - works on Mac and PC platforms.

If you get stuck, mail me an mp3 with appropriate instructions and I'll do it for you. PM if necessary.

My daughter has to compose a dance to a piece of music that she chosen.

The dance is only 1 and a half minutes long. So she has to take 1 and a half minutes of the tune that matches exactly to the dance.

Neither of us know how to edit a song or tune to get exactly what part is required.

Does anybody know of a free piece of software that would allow her to cut the part out that she requires and is simple to use.

Many thanks
Les
