Subject: Lyr Add: TRAIN SONG (Eliza Carthy/Ben Ivitsky)
From: Jim Dixon

Someone requested the chords to this song in another thread. I figured since the lyrics had never been posted here before, it would be a good idea to have them; then it will be easier for someone else to post the chords.

I found some lyrics in a blog, here, but I believe some of them were wrong. I fixed what I could, but some lines are still doubtful. Try these and see if they make sense to you:

TRAIN SONG
Eliza Carthy, Ben Ivitsky
As sung by Eliza Carthy on "Angels & Cigarettes" (2000)

Last night when I saw him last night, last week,
When I saw my lover with a flush in his cheek,
La, la, la,
Well, I took to the window and held out my hand.
He's a demon lover and a spiritual man,
La, la, la,
But I think somebody will tell him, 'cause they think that he ought to know
I've been looking from my bedroom window and falling in love.

I've been found out. What's my mother gonna say?
I've been found out. What's my mother gonna say?
I'm in trouble 'cause I've been watchin', watchin' in your bedroom window.
It's the skin I'm cuttin' and maybe I'll see you around tomorrow.
Maybe I'll see you around tomorrow.

Well, I seek him in candlelight. Why do I seek?
I can love his body and I don't have to speak.
La, la, la,
Oh, I stood by his shoulder and I blew on his face.
His eyes were the pastures of a much greener place,
La, la, la,
But I think that stitches will mend him, and his feet choose a path that they know,
Looking from his bedroom window and falling in love.

I've been found out. What's my mother gonna say?
But I was dragged down to the level of his play.
I'm in trouble 'cause I've been watchin', watchin' from your bedroom window.
That's the train I'm catchin' and I don't want to see you alone no more.
I'm in trouble 'cause I've been watchin', watchin' from your bedroom window.
That's the train I'm catchin' and I don't want to see you alone no more.
But I don't want to see you alone no more.
But I don't want to see you alone no more.
