Should anyone have an interest in fireworks and the part they have played in our history, we have a new exhibition running at Compton Verney. For more information visit - http://tinyurl.com/6cqlrsp

This has no connection to the report that the recent major pileup on the M-5(?) that took out ~50 vehicles was caused by smoke from a fireworks show celebrating Guy Fawkes day????

Or maybe JIK it was caused by a lorry that caught afire.
We await the police enquiry results.
Anyway, if it turns out to be your preferred theory it would be idiot people to blame, not fireworks.

Looks intersting MoBF, they were much more fun before Health and Safety took over.

Looks interesting. Does it cover the chemistry of fireworks? When were coloured fireworks introduced? Chemists were using the colour imparted to flame by chemicals to identify them from early 19th century; the histories I've read haven't mentioned whether it derived from their use in fireworks.
