Great show - sadly my puter had the DLL flu when the show went out but I eventually got it cured. Love that show, thanx to Max and Bert ...Hey that Jesse James is different.

As I have had so much trouble with live and streaming audio clips - perhaps I am not the only one?? - perhaps Muddie can do like Art Bell.com and put up a file download option. Using Smart Dowmload the entire show can be downloaded and heard off line :)

Being able to download a show and listen to it off-line would be a dream come true. I get lousy reception and have yet to be able to listen to anything very well at all. I usually end up turning it off because I can't stand the static, stuttering noises that spew forth from my RealAudio. I'd love to be able to hear these shows and all the others that the 'cat has to offer. Any chance this could happen, Max? It would be great and I would forever be in your debt (within reason, that it)!

karen k (who doesn't understand how all this audio stuff works)

Isn't there a wowrkshop on this kind of stuff at the Getaway?

You can download the shows. Go to http://media.mudcat.org and select what you want. It is just a directory listing that you will get. You want to grab the .rm files. Hold your shift key when you click the file and it will force the download rather than the play. You can guess the file by saying like http://media.mudcat.org/episode1.rm . In time perhaps I will make an interface to the files. Yeah, that's what I will do.

jO 77-
The version of Jesse James they played was recorded by The Mitchell Trio on their "Typical American Boys" album, Mercury SR 60992, back in the mid-60s. It is credited to P(aul) Clayton & T. Phillips.

Enjoyed the replay of Show 5; I am not able to listen live...some of us on the left coast of the U.S. have to work when the right coast is relaxing.---John

Max :0) I loved the Train Song - Karen K - if it's a soundboard problem you might just have it setup at unhappy resources - Right click My Computer, Select Properties, next Device Manager.

Click the Multimedia icon + thinigie- Sound Video and Game Controllers. It should Expand down to a new line. Seclect that line by Clicking it - Should say 'Sound Card ' or what ever your card make is. Now click the peoperties tab. On the properties page select Resources. It is usualy is set to something like this.

Base Memory Address 220-222F
Interupt Request 5
Direct Memory Access 5
Direct Memory Access 1

If they are not at these settings don't worry - These are default settings and will work with any Audio Card. You can uncheck the Use Automatic Settings box, and set the resources manually, - write down the settings you find if you plan to change them! - Changing em is really simple just click on the lil arrows on the right of 'Setting based on' It sometimes will say 'Basic Configuration 0'

John thankyou for posting the info :) As I was posting it appears so were you, anywho when I did get a half page writ - the puter froze grrrr - I had detailed my adventures in Missourah (grin) about how I never made it to the City of Kearney where Jesse was born, about Pretty boy Floyd and my friend now deceased who know Floyd's brother - about how this man was a Law Man!- about Pistol Pete a local charicter here in Oklahoma.

Pistol Pete, came form back east at the end of the last century with his family and they settled in Misoooourah. One day when Pete was yet a small boy some men came to the family home and shot and killed his father before both Pete and his mother.

Pete spent his childhood and teenage years learning the trade of a Gun Slinger. He eventually got all the men who murdered his father. Part time law man rancher, he had a place near here. He was a good man. I believe his real name was Frank Lyons.

He was in Oklahoma before the land rush and took part in that too. Just one of them true stories here.

There is a little town which I just love called Engels where the the Dalton Gang hung out. This is an amazing place :0)

Sorry to go on Max an Bert - this is your thread - BTW it is 3.11 am Oct 4 1999 - and I am listening to the archived shows, right now at IV
