Subject: RE: War of the Roses 2012 From: r.padgett Date: 25 Nov 11 - 01:57 PM Hello Bruce Looking to balance traditional with contemporary folk and solos duos and groups/speciality things I reckon. WE haven't got Hissyfit or David Swann the contemporary singers so could be you! However the £x is small for travel only so this could limit the numbers etc I still need to sort John Greaves, who is vital in my estimation ~ foil for Sid I have names and numbers in mind and to juggle yet? See you at Clecky Bruce! Ray (clutching on as Yorky Captain til somebody tells him different!) |

Subject: RE: War of the Roses 2012 From: Joe Nicholson Date: 22 Nov 11 - 11:38 AM Ray methinks the Calderbank genleman? has worked a flanker on you. there arn't many Yorkies go to Fylde. Joe N. |
Subject: War of the Roses 2012 From: r.padgett Date: 22 Nov 11 - 11:25 AM Will according to Sid Calderbank be fought this year at Fylde folk festival. Last year at Cleckheaton and was started at Saddleworth ff which looks as this is now finished. Hissyfit, David Swann, Bruce Baillie, John Greaves and Ray Padgett were the team last year who were judged to have lost!! to Mr Calderbanks allstars This year Linda of Hissyfit has told me that they are not available (Fylde was sprung upon us!) expecting Cleckheaton ff again! So tis my duty to find a replacement team! I have had 2 excellent volunteers. However the expenses available is small so I am a bit stuck in this department! All suggestions and volunteers will be dealt with appropriately. Note this is supposed to be a FUN thing so don't expect to win. ps Sid Calderbank takes this VERY seriously! looks like 4/5 representatives with probably 8 categories and Sid has decided that it must be either Yorkshire or Lancashire songs from the teams. so solos/duos groups can represent Ray |
