I loved several of their albums, but especially the one where they had the country & western song "Rameses the Second is Dead, My Love (He's left from Memphis for Heaven".

Marginal as usual. I liked the first LP of theirs that I bought (It Crawled into My Hand -- Honest!), back in the '60s: They were having fun! But they lost me with Golden Filth.

I believe they played at Lenny Bruce's funeral. Albert Goldman gave them the thumbs down for the gig.

*Almost* ALL the FUGS albums have been issued on CD.
Try Amazon, CDUniverse, Deepdiscount, etc. and eBay.

note particularly:
Don't Stop Don't Stop (ESP first and second albums, and oddities)
ELECTROMAGNETIC STEAMBOAT (complete Reprise recordings)

The Fugs first album was issued by BROADSIDE (Folkways), then sold
to ESP-Disk.

The REPRISE albums have all recently been issued on single CD's,
which duplicate the content of Electromagnetic Steamboat box.

Have a Fugs live album on vinyl. Can't find it on CD. I do have "Virgin Fugs" on CD. I even have a copy of "The Family" somewhere. Kenny Weaver went all rightwing Christian last I heard. Hopefully, he relapsed into apostasy.
