Seems that there was a "failure to communicate" between me and the Charlotte Blues Society and some paper work didn't get to the Blues Society and and the Blues Society don't forgive that kinda stuff but... ...here's the good, well not good, but kinda good part... I been doing construction all winter and when I started I knew my left thumb was wored out but over the winter what was left of any cartledge in the base of it got used up and by the end of January I could only play about 5 minutes so if I had booked rooms and airfare I would have lost that money... Doc took one look at the xrays last week and said that giving me a Corizone shot wouldn't do a thing and on the 14th he's gonna operate on it... Don't look up "thumb base arthritis surgery" unless you want to be completely grossed out... B~ |

The graphics person asked me today if we didn't also want the tray liner? This is the best arrangement, with the song list on the back and the album cover on the front and anything else inside the covers. When I was working on this I had asked Mr. Bobear about it and he thought it didn't come with one. This is the problem of too many choices and trying to figure out how their order site works. I think it will actually be quite easy - they have template to drop the images and information into (save me making my own document and measuring a CD tray insert here to be sure it's the right size). We should wrap this up tomorrow. (I'm also getting ready to move a bunch of stuff around in my computer, but in the name of not jinxing everything I'm working on, I'll finish this before the move.) I'm only mentioning this because if other people are following along and thinking about producing their own disks the way Bobert is, then you may also want to know about the cover process. I am using InDesign to produce the jewel case cover and tray liner and I used Illustrator to produce the CD face itself. The company has templates you can download and use for all of these things. After selecting "Send Money", be sure to select the "Personal" tab and not the "Purchase" tab. All purchases incur fees. Paypal deducted $0.62 from Art's payment of 11.00 as a fee. Apparently the fees may be a bit higher for overseas payments. Can some one more knowledgable help out a bit here if I haven't figured this out correctly? Under certain circumstances, personal transaction fees can be avoided. 1. There is no fee if the payment is made from a paypal balance or bank account. 2. There is a fee if the payment is made from a credit card or debit card. The sender decides whether they or I pay the fee, but I don't know how you make that selection. Just be sure you do select for you to pay the fee. The fee is higher for crossborder transactions and currency converstion. Fee information is available on the paypal website. For domestic transactions the fee is 2.9%+0.30USD. There is a chart to figure the fee for foreign currencies I don't mind covering the difference for a few transactions that are bound to get through, but if lots of people pay through my account that amount will add up. |

Now ol' hillbilly has had a number of financial setbacks since moving to NC so it ain't like I have the extra dough I used to always have but... ...if I get 25 Mudcatters to pledge to purchase one then I can go ahead with the getting it done... Price $8.00 + $3.00 packaging = $11.00 each US (Add $2.00 for UK, $3.0 for Australia, actual shipping costs for other planets...) The CD will include 5 songs (longish versions), stories, trash talk, etc. and will also feature Howard Moss on harmonica and Rick Usiton on drums... Rappaire will be the banker as he has his own unique ways of collecting, i.e. big guns and lots of them... BTW, thanx and when we have 25 then we'll pull the string on the project...
