Subject: BS: Bogdon Box Bass on History Channel From: GUEST,Chris Badynee Date: 03 Dec 11 - 07:53 PM History Channel "Invention USA" link My cardboard box upright bass and I were flown from Detroit to LA to be tested in an acoustical engineering lab. There were tests that i still don't quite understand, lotsa tech-talk and comparisons to standard wood upright basses. The results are amazing and entertaining, nothing less than i expected. Air date is Friday Dec. 9th at 10:30pm and again on Sunday Dec. 11th at 1:00pm. They'll rerun it again in 6 weeks too! |

Subject: RE: Bogdon Box Bass on History Channel From: GUEST,josepp Date: 04 Dec 11 - 08:48 PM There was a guy who had trapazoidal violins made and had people judge their quality against standard violins of good quality. It covered the gamut from non-musical people to music lovers to producers to musicians. What they found was that it was a crap-shoot. There was no telling who was going to prefer which violin sound which proves the shape really has nothing to do with the sound. What they did discover, though, was that trapazoidal violins didn't last very long compared to standard violins. |
