Please could you undelete the "freelance writer" thread.

It was a genuine request for an explanation to a specific phenomena I find quite mystifying;

and as, it should go without saying, obviously a light hearted tongue in cheek approach to a valid subject for discussion.

So please reconsider -

What was the harm in it ???

your thread was probably deleted because you have not logged in.

Unless there's a reason to re-hide the entire thread, I wish they could stay up and wither off the bottom like regular threads when they're dug out by whatever that spamthing is.

I like seeing/reading old ones I'd never think to look for.

trouble is, and again it should not need to be spelled out,
the From: nom de plume is clearly part of the joke related aspect of the thread.

oh well, leave it to the mods reasonable discretion ???

"Subject: Tech: 'freelance writer' spam ?????????????
From: GUEST,freelance reader

Could someone please explain the specific purpose of "freelance writer" spam ???

Is it just here, or all over other forums on the net ???

Surely there can't be that many desperate wannabe writers too stupid to leave CV info and a contact address ????"

--unnamed guest who started this thread, a private answer is not possible because you are not only not logged on, you appear to not be a regular poster to this site. And perhaps you're the last person on the planet to understand about SpamBots. They're slippery little suckers, they're mindlessly posted to test the site, and moderators nuke them several times a day. These threads of yours asking about them have been deleted because along with not feeding Trolls, we don't feed Bots, either. Please consider joining mudcat and participating the music discussions above the line. I gather from this query that you are a regular reader here. Thanks for your interest.

Cordially, a Mudelf
