I forgot to say that you can check out Cas Wallin's text by going to the Musical Traditions website (www.mustrad.org.uk). Click onto "Records" then onto "MT Records". Then scroll down until you see the album & click onto booklet notes.

I recorded Cas Wallin's version of this. Cas was a neighbour of Dillard Chandler and knew him well. However, Cas did not sing Dillard's second verse, though he did sing some verses that Dillard omitted! You can hear Cas on the Musical Traditions double CD "Far in the Mountains" volumes 3 & 4 (available in the States from Camsco, I think). Cas called it "The Preacher's Song".

I'm trying to learn Dillard Chandler's "Jesus Says Go" (on Dark Holler), but he's pretty difficult to understand. The words, as I hear them, are below. I'd love a second set of ears checking these, especially the second verse. Let me know what you hear...
