I would like some opinions on your favorite Dylan performances so I can see what I have missed. It does not matter if they are acoustic or electric. I would appreciate it if you could list actual videos that can be accessed. Thanks.

I've enjoyed them all but for different reasons...

I first saw Dylan in either late '64 or early '65... He played the Alexandria (Va) roller rink... It was purely acoustic and I was familiar with most of his material...

The next time was around '69 when he played at the Mosque in Richmond, Va... This time it was a mix of acoustic and electric and he had "The Band" backing him... I kinda got a little turned off because before the show I asked one member of the band if Dylan would make an announcement of an upcoming anti-war rally and was told, "He doesn't those kinds of things"... But the music was much better that the roller rink concert...

The last time I saw him was at the old Cap Center outside of Washington, DC... I think that was around '74 or '75 and it was "Dylan with The Band"... The Band did a set, Dylan did one and they joined forces... Best of them all other than a clutch cable snapping on my old VW and having to wait until everyone in the parking lot was gone so I could start it in gear and had to drive back to Richmond without a clutch... But the music was good even if I was in the nose-bleed section... Didn't need to smoke any weed that night 'cause there was plenty of 2nd hand smoke up there...

B~
