We recently showed the Band's movie "The Last Waltz" in the room where we hold our old tunes session at The Beech. It was much enjoyed by those who turned up.

Near the end they appear playing what sounds like on old european tune on various accoustic instruments. I think the tune pops up here and there in the movie.

Does anybody nknow it's name, it's origin or where we can get the dots?

Have you still got the DVD? If so, it should tell you in the end credits.

Les,

Was it not called:Theme From The Last Waltz?

Described by one critic as:Neo Classical;

Could be wrong of course!

Cheers

David

Thanks David,

just reading the liner notsefrom the DVD. "Theme from the Last Waltz", a traditional movie theme I had written. ( Robbie Robertson, that is ). The inside page has a photo of The Band playing the accoustic instruments that I think they use to play "Theme from the Last Waltz".

The DVD is my son's and I had never watched it until it was suggested as a follow up the "The Blue & Gospel Train" of 1964.
