The proper title is THE BALLAD OF YUKON JAKE. It was written by Edward H. Paramore, Jr. in the style of Robert W. Service. Joe Offer posted the complete text of the poem/recitation in the thread called Recitations Anyone?.

It's on an old Rounder LP 'Just something my uncle told me: blaggardy folk songs from the southern United States' Rounder 0414. The performer (author?) on the record is Julius Soel a rancher from Leupp, Arizona.
