You can say that again. I met him several times in the early '80s. Very nice man as weel as a fine singer. (that weel is a typo BTW. I was going to change it back to received English. Then I thought it's more fitting to leave it as it is.)

And if you'd like to hear the young man himself, Google the Kist o Riches site (archive recordings from the School of Scottish Studies), search for "Enoch Kent" and among several offerings you'll find a great version of 'The Bleacher Lassie o' Kelvinhaugh', dating back to the 1950s.
Don't know if it's possible to make a clicky, but it's very easy to find anyway -- and a rare treat!
