Subject: Review: Lonely Heart From: Little Robyn Date: 21 Dec 11 - 02:48 PM My baby brother Michael (well he was a baby in 1964) has written a musical called Lonely Heart, based on the cult classic film 'The Honeymoon Killers'. It's not a happy story but the show should be good. It opens in Wellington, NZ on 17th January 2012. Here's a sneak preview. Michael is playing piano and his wife Emma is the girl on the left. It isn't folk but Michael has had a good grounding in Folk music - I used to drag him around the local folk festivals when he was a kid and he could sing harmonies with me. Now he prefers the big shows - he's been Musical Director for many of them, so that's what he's aiming at but I'm sure there's a bit of jazz/folk influence there. Robyn |
