Subject: Lyr Req: Lyr. Req: All the Cowhands Wanna....
From: GUEST,Iona

It's a Roy Rogers song from his film My Pal Trigger. The first part goes;

All the cowhands wanna marry Harriet,
Harriet's handy with a lariat,
But she don't want to marry yet,
She's havin' too much fun!

I don't know if Bob Nolan wrote this song or not. I think it's called "All the Cowhands Wanna Marry Harriet", but I've also seen it called "She's Havin' too Much Fun".
It's all over the 'lyrics' sites on the web, but those sites are just infested with viruses so I don't go on them.
There's also the song "Old Faithful" in the movie, but I should probably make a new thread for that if I can't find the lyrics.

Next from memory:-

On her veranda
What a line they hand her
But she gets those blues away
Singing yippee I o ki ay

Cannot think of more although I`m sure I knew most of it at the time!.

From International Lyrics Playground

HARRIET
Abel Baer (m) Paul Cunningham (l)   1945

as rec by Anita O'Day & Buddy Stewart w Gene Krupa & his Orch
Oct 23rd 1945 New York

All the cowhands wanna marry Harriet,
Harriet's handy with a lariat,
But she don't want to marry yet,
She's havin' too much fun!

With a lasso she can throw a buffalo,
Any old bronco in the rodeo;
She can round up any Romeo
Without a rope or a gun!

On her verandah,
What a line they hand her!
But she keeps those wolves away,
Shoutin', "Yippee-ki-oh-ki-ay!".

All the cowhands wanna marry Harriet,
Harriet's handy with a lariat,
But she don't want to marry yet,
She's havin' too much fun!

On her verandah,
What a line they hand her!
But she keeps those wolves away,
Shoutin', "Yippee-ki-oh-ki-ay!".

All the cowhands wanna marry Harriet,
Harriet's handy with a lariat,
But she don't want to marry yet,
She's havin' too much fun!

Subject: Lyr Add: OLE FAITHFUL (Sons of the Pioneers)
From: GUEST,999

You are welcome, Iona. I found the following for Old Faithful. But never having heard it before I don't know whether it is or is not complete. It was on a site out there in the ether. Note, I have put the entire thing in quotations. I wrote nothing below this line.

##############This line##############################

"Google got me this in about eighteen seconds flat (and Eircom calls it "Broadband" l&lol).

Ole Faithful. Album: Happy Trails: The Roy Rogers Collection 1937-1990 (1999) Artist: Roy Rogers

There seems to be an MP3 addy, probably commercial so I'm not sure if I can post it here. But it seems the "Happy Trails" ('37-'90) CD is also available. "cduniverse.com" says this:
(Happy Trails: The Roy Rogers Collection 1937- 1990 CD
Our Price: $46.89)
Disc 2, Track 8: OLE FAITHFUL - (with Sons Of The Pioneers)

Try HMV!???

Unnecessary PS:

The lyrics came up like this:

Ole Faithful, we rode the range together
Ole Faithful, in ev'ry kind of weather
When your roundup days are over
There'll be pastures white with clover
For you, Ole Faithful, pal of mine

Hurry up, old fellow
'Cause the moon is yellow tonight
Hurry up, old fellow
'Cause the moon is mellow and bright
There's a coyote howlin' to the moon above
So carry me back to the one I love
Hurry up, old fellow,
'Cause we got to get home tonight

Ole Faithful, we rode the range together
Ole Faithful, in ev'ry kind of weather
When your roundup days are over
There'll be pastures white with clover
For you, Ole Faithful, pal of mine
For you, Ole Faithful, pal of mine

Further note: It looks like the title of the song is Ole Faithful.

Neat and clear version by Eddy Arnold.

That's it! Hurrah! I love Mudcat. ;) It's a little frustrating since a lot of the Roy Rogers movies have sound that makes it hard to make out the words of a song. So there are a lot of songs that I still need to find the lyrics for. the Bob Nolan site has some, since he wrote a lot of them, but not all of 'em.

Thanks again!

The only version to chart was Decca 9003 by Red Foley with Roy Ross & His Ramblers. Number 4 in May 1946.
