Hiya,
Big THANKS to the museum and Shanty UK's North East region. Great venue for a meeting and what could be better than combining business with an excellent event. So many people and so many good songs!
Brill, let's hope it is the first of many events.
Fair Winds
Doxy

Thank you Mick and all the staff at the Waterways Museum, for a fabulous afternoon and evening. Great music and company and all of us from Nine Tenths Below had a really good time.

The Museum staff were over the moon. From organisers' point of view a roaring success. I don't see any reason why we can't have lots more.
Thanks to all for coming and performing and a big thanks to the Museum for allowing us to use their premises and Room 58.

Ta, Rache! Nice one, Osson!

As long as it's a sea-leg you'll be okay.
There is a lift aboard if you require it.

Correction to previous message re Wheldale. crew are off gallivanting so there'll be trips on Telethon Louise instead (an old lifeboat).

There will be a bar aboard and food will be available at tea time. Sarnies, toadsties, paninis, baked taties etc. If you want something more substantial upto 5.30 pm let me know pronto and I'll see what I can arrange, otherwise you'll have to go ashore in Goole.

Hello everyone I take great pleasure to invite you to the first (of many we hope!) Shanty uk regional meeting on 21st of January 2012.

This will take place atThe Yorkshire Waterways Museum
Dutch River Side, Goole, East Yorkshire, DN14 5TB.
Here is a link to a map: http://binged.it/vdBgn3. If travelling via the M62 motorway, take junction 36 and follow the brown signs.
Saturday 21st January 2012
5 – 10.30 pm

As you know Shanty Uk was set up to preserve, promote and research maritime music. Although the liverpool sessions have been a great success,to run this on a national scalle would be logisticly to big for regular meetings and would be unfair and expensive to ask people to travel to \liverpool for get togethers. To this end the committee decided to look at regional get togethers and see how we progress.

As with the Liverpool get togethers we will have a committee meeting on the day and then have a sing. We have been very fortunate to secure Goole maritime museum for our first meeting and sing. We want to run this as informally as possible but I will ask Steve Gardham to gently lead the session.

Rachel has agreed to donations to the Museum for use of facilities on the evening.. The session will take place on Room 58 barge. She has also offered berths on Sobriety overnight for a small donation to the Museum. There is also a limited spaces for campervans

Follow link for a poster/ info for you to use.
