thanks friends. Katherine was assessed last night and it was decided she would be best at home, with rob, her husband taking time off work to keep an eye on her. medicine prescribed and daily visits from medics. I think she is slowly coming up but still in a deep low at present.

sure thing, that sounds good.
not as good for my daughter though. she did go into hospital, voluntarily, after hearing dangerous suggesting voices in her head.
that has however subsided and she is on trip out shopping with becky.
hopefully, the general trend is up.

Pete, thinking especially of you & your daughter. A trying time for both of you. Good, sympathetic treatment & heaps of patience will, hopefully, get you through.

      On holiday, Ann & I were surrounded by the love & care of soo many good people. We have been visiting the same Greek island for nearly twenty years. My first, late Wife was Greek & Ann's surviving daughter's husband is Greek too. The combination of Family & many Friends garnered over the years...Greek & a truly international mix, makes for great, extended, multilingual dinners that go on into the wee hours, always ending with songs, laughter & tears. We're left feeling very loved & very special...feelings that linger...feelings that are never completely extinguished. Returning to our 'London Reality' is never easy, but what felt onerous before, now seems less of a burden & more manageable.

    It's good to be home...it's good to be back on board.

healing thoughts needed please,

After eight healthy years my daughters Crohns has come back, she has been poorly for two weeks and it is affecting her eyes as well as her tummy. Looks like steroids again!

Her GP has responded very quickly thank goodness, saw her Tuesday , blood tests, results Wednesday, steroids Thursday, referred to hospital . Hospital phoned her Friday and prescribed another drug and are fast tracking her for a colonoscopy asap. Say what you will but, when needed, our NHS is wonderful.

I am looking after the little girls this weekend so Samantha can rest in bed. We are hoping that this is a glitch?

Mother is 91 tomorrow, so the girls will help decorate a cake ( not 91 candles this time, remember last year I nearly set fire to the house!) and hopefully we can keep the girls free of worry about mummy, trying to be as normal as possible.

Wendy, enjoyed seeing the photos of your Mother's Birthday. Very pleased to read that you decided against the full 91 candles. Just lighting them would have taken forever! Getting the right medication & the right dosage for your Samantha might take time. I've learned over the years that Pharmacology is not an exact science. It is my earnest wish that she makes a steady, well managed recovery. I fully endorse your comments about the NHS. Ann & I have had to make increasing use of many NHS clinics, consultants, our lovely GP, as the ageing process has ploughed an ever-deepening furrow. The NHS has, more than once, saved both our lives.

Ok, I'm off to the galley to meet gnu for my first lesson in backwards eating.

I check in daily, read, and carry every concern in my heart and meditations, but I am aware I am not posting much.
