FOR ARTISTS WISHING TO TAKE PART IN THE SHOWCASE:

On behalf of Jacey Bedford and Pete Coe:

We're organising the first Folk21 regional day in Yorkshire on 31st March at the Music Room in Cleckheaton. This is an experiment (the first one always is) and deadlines are tight as we have to go to press with local advertising next week. If any established folk club performers wish to take part in the showcase concert in front of the club organiser/delegates please email Pete Coe (petecoe@backshift.demon.co.uk). Please note that participating performers must already be playing on the folk club circuit (either established or up-and-coming newcomers). They should also be from outside the Yorkshire area, and not playing Yorkshire on a regular basis, but wishing to expand into that area. If Pete doesn't know you personally please include links to your website and youtube or audio clips. If you are a relative newcomer please list your last six gigs (including dates). We hope there will be other showcase opportunities in other regions as more regional days are arranged.

Is there a cost to attend this seminar/workshop or whatever term please? £X?

I believe the start is 2pm with an evening concert showcasing artists who would like to appear at Yorkshire venues? not resident in Yorkshire

Who currently do not do a great deal of work in Yorkshire and are professional artists (whatever this is defined as ~ have 6 gigs under there belt!!)

Cleckheaton is near M62 and approachable from m1/A1 of course in West Yorkshire

Presumably Yorkshire Artists will be invited to a gathering elsewhere to showcase?

Ray

All sounds good! Am sure there will be plenty of good performers getting in touch for this. Always difficult to perform farther from your home circuit than you normally go. Think I need a bit more experience before I'd apply though, maybe in a few years.

And as Ray suggests, perhaps there should be one down South for Northern Artists! More regional days, says George. Sounds excellent!

Yes George but is there a cost to attend the Regional day as a delegate to watch hear and discuss etc?

Thanks

Ray

No, it's free - and so is the showcase, for club organisers/delegates.
