Mary ... Are you talking about doing and mastering/mixing work? Or just the production work of a "ready to go" CD? bob

Also try a call to Oasis Mfg in New Jersey.

1-888-296-2747

They may be competitive. The call is toll free. Be sure to ask about shipping costs also.

Dunno what I am talking about but that never stopped me before. Can a person do all this at home using jewel boxes?

It would be nice if this thread were in the Music section instead of BS, as it's very relevant to any of us who are planning on or considering making some music CDs avaialble for demo or for sale.

I know several performers that do just this ... produce the entire CD at home. bob(deckman)nelson

MIXONIC does an outstanding job at reasonable prices. We've used them in the past and mean to, again, for my brother's music. I learned about them on Mudcat years ago so they've got staying power.:-)Here's their DUPLICATION PAGE with some examples. There's a link for more prices. etc. Good luck!

Mary, I just finished doing the cover art and song list and such for Bobert, who had a small run of discs produced and packaged at a place in Minnesota. When we spoke he said he went with them because they didn't have a limit on the number of discs (he could do a small run) and they had an incredibly quick turn around time. You might contact him. He mailed the disc and I sent the art files digitally.

Mary, with all of the Scandihoovians in Seattle, extending your search to cover a few in Minnesota seems kind of natural! (My great grandfather met my great grandmother in Minnesota, then brought her to Seattle in ca. 1890.)

Hi Mary, Pip McCaslin's Realtime is located in his home in the Maple Leaf area of Seattle. He did my first two CDs several years ago. I don't know how competitive his prices are now, but he does short runs, and it's nice to sit down and talk to him about your project beforehand, and later pick up the product just a short drive away.

Cheers, S. in Seattle

Mary, imo it would be worth your while to phone Oasis just to get an idea about the kind of prices that are out there. I agree with your stance to 'shop locally', because I do much the same for food, clothes, CDs, etc. Please let us know when you will have CDs available for sale, ok? You are a wonderful songwriter.

THanks. I am very pretty too but that probably doesn't count...I am thinking also of Made in Washington and Made in Oregon labels..could help to sell in their stores...mg

I'm thinking along the same lines myself, so this thread is of great interest to me as well.

Be sure, of course, to keep us posted as to how things are progressing, Mary. I'm looking forward to getting a copy. I've always enjoyed your singing!
