Subject: Music! From: GUEST Date: 28 Jan 12 - 03:39 PM http://tomparish.bandcamp.com/ I know self-promotion on forums usually just ticks people off, but I've worked hard on this album and I want people to listen. Feel free to hate it, think it's weird or terrible, whatever. But you also might like it! At the very least, I think I've come up with some interesting ideas. I use all acoustic sounds, or sounds recorded from the real world. I don't use any sounds created on a computer. But I then proceed to splice those sounds up, manipulate them using software, etc, to create a sound somewhere between acoustic and synthetic. This is my first attempt at this aesthetic but I plan to pursue it further in the future. Among the instruments I recorded are acoustic guitar, twelve string guitar, violin, erhu, mandolin, banjo, two kinds of flute, a toilet flushing, television static, various pots and pans. Anyway, check it out, or don't. I consider it folk music, because it's entirely amateur, recorded in my bedroom, not for profit, purely for the love of music. I hope you enjoy it. And it sounds best on headphones! http://tomparish.bandcamp.com/ |
