Too bad it wasn't Chongo loading his gun: 2 seconds flat. Many a gorilla has paid the price for underestimating just how fast Chongo can reload.

I'll have to try another time, right now it's taking 10 seconds to load less than a second of content. My computer isn't anything special but it's not usually THAT slow.

It may depend partly on how good your computer's speakers are. I've got speakers with a good bass and treble range here. If I turn the volume all the way up on my speakers, I get a reasonably good level of sound on the music in these videos. The ads, of course, are too damn loud, but I just mute the sound until they're over.

Doc is a pretty cool MC, and a folk music veteran. He opens up his own house on Sunday afternoons to host Openfolk, provides refreshments, seating, a great sound system, and there's no cover charge either. We've got musicians coming from all over Southern Ontario, and it just keeps getting better. Their abilities range from totally amateur to fully professional, and everyone is welcome. There is a sense of shared enjoyment of the music here, not competition. I have to say that Little City is about the neatest group I've seen yet at Openfolk, and I hope to see them play again soon.

I recorded the soundtrack and it sounds much better and louder than on the video without even doing anything -sounds better once cleaned.

I hate those stinking adverts at the beginning of the videos! Matter of fact, I hate all radio and TV and Internet advertising on principle, but that's another discussion.

One has to just turn the sound down while they run, though, and wait for 30 seconds, then turn it up for the music that follows.

Listen to Little City too, people. They are great.

Agreed. But I don't understand how the adverts can be so loud and then the music is so low on volume. PMO!

In the words of Steve Earle, "Load a might slow"... Guess it's my pudder but I'z got it one mute and hid so maybe it'll load and I'll get to hear it without the hickups...

This weekend I was at Doc's Openfolk stage in Barrie, Ontario again, and got to do an opening set of my own stuff, then heard the feature act, a wonderful Indie band of young people from Toronto called Little City.

You can see both sets on JustinTV.com by clicking on the blue clickies I will provide below. These links will work for about 1 week, then they won't be there anymore.

First there is my set of 3 songs. It lasts about 22 minutes. The songs are:

"Nth Time Around" - my song
"Three Chords and the Truth" - Lynn Miles
"A Love So Wide" - my song

"A Love So Wide" was written about a week ago, and it's probably my favorite song to perform at the moment.

George Coventry live on JustinTV

Then there's 40 minutes of absolutely wonderful original stuff by Little City, a four person band with really good taste in music! I love these kids. They have a new fan, that's for sure.

Little City live at Openfolk
