Subject: RE: Dick Miles, Just as the tide From: Paul Burke Date: 11 Feb 12 - 05:04 PM Now calm down folks. Dick's playing and singing are excellent, but he's perhaps just a little further along the Asperger's spectrum than I am. Take him for what he is, and ignore the odd responses. |

Subject: RE: Dick Miles, Just as the tide From: GUEST,olddude Date: 16 Feb 12 - 03:51 PM Oh for Gosh sakes. Dick's music is very enjoyable. Ain't none of us John Denver here .. no wonder so many fine musicians won't post their work or a song they love on mudcat. Someone is always slinging shit ... I am leaving this thread for good but keep playing Dick, I for one enjoy your work |

Subject: RE: Dick Miles, Just as the tide From: GUEST,olddude Date: 16 Feb 12 - 11:04 PM I will take a real person singing and playing a real song in a manner that is folk style any day over the one size fits all shit on the radio everyday. Same song, meaningless lyrics, all look the same sound the same wear their 800 dollar cowboy boots and play cookie cutter music from the same 50 studio writers that daily crank the stuff out. Somehow people think this is real music .. not ... same exact song but a different head singing it. I will take a real person playing from their heart any day and enjoy it like nothing I hear in today's modern music |
Subject: RE: Dick Miles, Just as the tide From: Stilly River Sage Date: 16 Feb 12 - 11:17 PM I enjoyed that first link, as long as I wasn't looking at it. Poor lighting and I couldn't see the concertina made it iffy to watch. But the song and voice are lovely. I also am enough of a folk nerd to enjoy the information following the song. I grew up with that at home with my Dad. :) SRS |
