Subject: Winter songs From: Phil Edwards Date: 08 Feb 12 - 05:07 PM About two months ago I started recording seasonal songs for 52 Folk Songs; Advent songs, Christmas songs, New Year songs and songs for long nights and cold days. The white album is now (finally) available for the usual token payment; you can download it here (complete with hidden tracks, lyrics and notes) and read more about it here. Here's a summary: Songs: 14 (including 2 download-only 'hidden tracks') Traditional songs: 11 Authors: Sydney Carter, Seeger & MacColl, Dave Goulder Instruments: whistles (D, C and high G), recorder, flute, reed organ, melodica Songs with multi-tracking: 13 Songs with vocal harmonies: 8 Proper three-finger chords played on the abovementioned melodica: 6 Hidden tracks: Moving On Song, On Ilkley Moor Baht 'At Influences: Dolly Collins, Dave Burland, Bob and Carole Pegg, Steeleye Span, Tony Rose, Rapunzel & Sedayne, Jon Boden I'm now hard at work on the next batch of songs, which are mostly Child ballads and mostly sung unaccompanied (although I have recently acquired a zither of which I'm rather fond). 52 Folk Songs is at http://www.52folksongs.com. |
