Just heard a song sung, believe the title could be 'I am the river'.
First line of the chorus goes 'I am the river that turns the wheel'
Can anyone provide the lyrics please.

You can hear a preview at that site and see if that's the song.

If that's the correct song, this is songwriter Bob Martin's myspace page:
http://www.myspace.com/bobmartinriversong (love that fiddle!) and this is his webpage: http://www.riversong.com/

Darlodave- Can you tell us anything else about the song you heard? Sung by a male or female? Additional lyrics? Heard in the UK or USA or elsewhere? Instrumentation? Slow and somber or quick and cheery?

Sung recently by a male at Grimsby Folk Club, song of about 4/5 verses, a cheery song.

That narrows it down a bit, thanks. Might you call or email the folks at http://www.grimsbyfolkclub.co.uk/ ?

Dave
The guy who sang it on Sunday was Matt Jones...I think it might be one of his own compositions..I'll be seeing him on Sunday ,so I'll ask him and let you know...unless you find out before then.
BTW I enjoyed your singing on Sunday.
