Corsican Colonel de Jon de le Moutarde did it. He had the Gaul to do it covertly with his pistolet from monticule-tertre avec la pelouse de verte. It was a yellow-bellied conspiracy involving the Grey-Poupon underground league. The plot had it's orgin in the Apicius-De re coquinaria.

Heck, to listen to the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Ricky Santorum might as well throw Obama into the mix of suspects...

(But, Boberdz... Obama wasn't born yet...)

Well, that ain't what Ricky and Rush say... They say he was born on the planet, Kenya, in the late 40s and that his daddy kidnapped the Limbergh baby...

(I hadn't heard that one, Boberdz...)

You will...

Very interesting stuff, Stringsinger, and it has summoned forth a legion of kneejerk wisecracks from the usual self-congratulatory crowd here who aren't really interested in anything controversial or unusual unless they already thought of it themselves. In this way, they demonstrate how smart they think they are...smarter than most, to be sure! ;-)

It won't make any difference now to know (or think you know) who killed JFK. It's water long gone under the bridge. But it is an interesting article, nevertheless.

Most conspiracy theories are interesting... And entertaining...

I mean, the one where Lyndon Johnson and a bunch of Texas millionaires is as interesting and entertaining as most but...

Ain't kneejerk to dismiss conspiracy theories, LH...

I mean, I could make up a lot of shit and because I am fairly well read (for a lexdexic, that is) could get a few thousand folks to believe it who would fine tune it and...

...wa laa...

GHONGZ KILLS JFK!!!!

NOTHING any of that article or any I've read for 15 years of these theories shows ANY clear link to Oswald. "3-5 degrees of separation" do not link the Mafia to Oswald. Heck...*I* might have a Mafia link thru my Italian college Philosophy professor, who could easily have been a player if he hadn't been to smart to get sucked in!

I'd like to remind you of a very simple thing, Bobert.

ANY plan that is formed by 2 or more persons in secret (behind closed doors)...and is not broadcast openly to the general public...IS a conspiracy.

How many such things do you think happen in one calendar year? Billions, that's how many. Most of them are small in their repercussions. A few are very big in their repercussions.

Yet you can dismiss any one of them (specially a big one) merely by cynically calling it "a conspiracy theory"...which is a glib putdown and a meaningless cliche.

That is laughable. And sad. It indicates merely your desire to sluff off something anyone else says if you didn't think of it first.

The government's version of the 911 attacks IS a conspiracy theory. And it might even be a true one. If so, it's still a conspiracy theory...as are several other possible theories about 911. It would HAVE to be a conspiracy theory...because it took more than ONE person to prepare and carry out those 911 attacks, didn't it? That means....a conspiracy.

If it took more than ONE person to plan and carry out the JFK assassination, then it was a conspiracy. If the Warren Commission did a coverup to preserve some "lone assassin" mythology, that's another conspiracy. All these are real possibilities of conspiracies, and they should not be dismissed in half a second with a smartass kneejerk cliche like you and so many others customarily use when you say the phrase "conspiracy theory" in response to someone else's idea about something.

How can you simply "dismiss conspiracy theories"? So - there are no conspiracies? Does that mean that no two people ever get together to plan anything, or they never get together to plan anything without notifying the press, or - I think I've got it, now - everything is exactly the way the authorities tell us it is .... ?

Subject: RE: BS: Who killed JFK?

Yup. That was my point exactly.

People who sneer "conspiracy theory" just wish to not bother even talking to someone else about something. It's extremely disrespectful on their part, and it's become a standard form of dismissal of anything the denier doesn't want to hear about in the first place.

To my mind it's right up that with "a Confederate Conspiracy Group -- probably the KKK -- masterminded Lincoln's assassination." Or "a group of Roman Senators decided to kill Julius Caesar."

Yes, it's possible. But it was damned a half a century ago now -- will be, next year. If it WAS a conspiracy it's likely that the conspirators are as dead as those Roman senators.

Sure, I'd like more information. And if I were President I'd release it. And I do have questions, such as "What happened to JFK's brain?" and "What was the real reason they dropped the original bronze coffin JFK was transported from Dallas in into Chesapeake Bay?"

I think that there was a LOT of CYA.

"In September 1965, the House of Representatives passed a bill which required the government to preserve any objects related to the Kennedy Assassination which might contain evidentiary value. Several days later, Representative Earle Cabell from Texas sent a letter to Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach (who had replaced Bobby Kennedy at the Justice Department a year earlier). In his letter, Congressman Cabell suggested that the casket had no value for anyone other than “the morbidly curiousâ€쳌. Since the Kennedy Family “did not see fit to use this particular casket in the ultimate interment of the bodyâ€쳌, Cabell felt that it was “surplusâ€쳌 material owned and controlled by the federal government. To shut down those who might be “morbidly curiousâ€쳌, Cabell recommended that the casket “be declared the proper property of the USA and, as such and in keeping with the best interest of the country, be destroyed.â€쳌

"The Kennedy Family agreed with Congressman Cabell’s sentiments and Attorney General Katzenbach ensured everyone that the casket had no evidentiary value, no good reason for display or storage, and that it was the property that the government had the right to dispose of in whichever way it sought fit. On February 18, 1966, several members of the Air Force picked the casket up from a secure building at the National Archives just a few blocks from the White House. The casket was placed in an Air Force truck and transported to Andrews Air Force Base â€" the very place that the casket had originally landed in Washington with President Kennedy inside of it less than three years earlier. At Andrews, the Air Force team from the 93rd Air Terminal Squadron loaded the coffin on to a C130 transport plane.
To dispose of the casket, the Air Force had decided to take it to a place that JFK had once considered being buried: the Atlantic Ocean. Kennedy loved the sea and was said to have considered being buried at sea when he died. Of course, we know that Kennedy was buried at Arlington National Cemetery instead, but for many reasons, the Atlantic Ocean was the perfect place for the disposal of the casket that had brought him back to Washington following his assassination.

"The Air Force wanted to ensure the integrity of the casket and not allow it to become a souvenir by someone who happened to come across it floating in the ocean or washing up on the shore. The C130 flew about 100 miles east of Washington, D.C. and descended to about 500 feet above the water. Before taking off, the Air Force had drilled over 40 holes into the casket and filled it with three 80-pound sandbags. It was also secured inside of a wooden crate and sealed shut in a manner so that it wouldn’t break apart upon hitting the water.
"At approximately 10:00 AM, the C130’s tail hatch was opened and the casket was pushed out of the aircraft. Parachutes softened its fall and the coffin began to sink instantly. The airplane circled the drop zone for about 20 minutes to make sure that the coffin didn’t resurface, but they had no reason to worry. The Air Force had chosen an area of the Atlantic that saw very little air or sea traffic, and the casket settled in about 9,000 feet of water. The Kennedy Family was relieved that they no longer had to worry about a bloody casket going on display somewhere for the “morbidly curiousâ€쳌."

Sounds about right to me

Almost all major events which produce National trauma get over-analyzed... and soon rhetorical questions begin to distort the review of relevant evidence.
"Why didn't they....?"
"What happened to the...?"
"Did you realize that at the same time.....?"
"How could X..or Y...or Z have happened when....?"

Then, those who propose the conspiracy theories simply ignore ANY amount of contrary evidence...even from experts... and repeat the same questions and claims, asserting that their 'armchair' analysis makes more sense.

I have no doubt the there ARE attempted conspiracies and that certain acts WOULD be done, if possible.... but there are ways of evaluating contradictory stories that make it fairly easy to see which ones are not too likely. The problem is, if a possible conspiracy can get a 3% possible rating, there are those who will believe it over the 97% official version.

....and I am SO totally tired of 'Building 7'. It HAS been explained, whether or not one likes the Warren commission version. (I have read reams of stuff on it...and watched videos, and seen pics, and seen schematic drawings of the structure showing WHY it reacted as it did.)

After all the events over the years and the recent ones we are more geared up to high security now than before and for the most part the slightest flaw in security are followed up, too many people have been lost over the years but do you suppose that with regard to most of past events as with JFK, Bobby or the John Lennon shooting lax security and old fashioned ignorance and niavety on all sides played a part. Was it something just bound to happen as with the Pope etc. although he did survive it.

Ebbie... if you go to your source page and type "ctrl U", you will see the HTML which defines the page--- with some stuff like this:

        [style type="text/css"]
                * {margin:0; padding:0;}
                fieldset,img {border:0;}
                ol,ul {list-style:none;}
                a:active, a:focus {outline: 0;}
                h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6,span {font-size:100%;font-weight:normal;}

                body {
                        font-family:QuicksandBook, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
                        text-shadow:#efefef 1px 1px 0px;
                        font-size: 22px;
                        color: #222;
                        background-color:#f8f8f8;
                        background-image:url(http://static.tumblr.com/ybdgkw4/ffzkxsss6/bg-400-paper2.jpg);
                        margin: 40px 0 20px 0;
                        padding: 0;
                        }

                a, a:visited {
                        color: #222;
                        font-family: QuicksandBold, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
                        font-weight: bold;
                        border-bottom:1px solid #aaa;
                        text-decoration: none;

etc....only MUCH more. You will notice that most of the odd characters are where punctuation was in the article. Somehow, the parameters defined don't translate well into C&P.

there will be a movie out soon about Carlos Marcello confessing in prison to the murder of JFK. The research by Thom Hartmann and Lamar Waldron took over ten years and is documented clearly in "Ultimate Sacrifice" by these two authors. The movie will be based on this book which I recommend heartily.

The reason to be concerned is that there are mafias now have allegiance to the US government and could again do their bidding.

The only concern I have is that this incident might repeat itself. There are no safeguards against it.
