Subject: RE: Anyone heard this duo before ? From: Bernard Date: 04 Mar 12 - 01:31 PM I realise it's only a trick of the reverb on the recording, but it sounds like a hardanger...! Hard to accept the M62 motorway (Rishworth Moor) is only a couple of miles away from this idyllic Saddleworth scenery!! I know the area well, but don't know Dick / Tracey... but it's time I did! It's easy to see them in this clip - maybe it will jog someone's memory? |
Subject: RE: Anyone heard this duo before ? From: Arthur_itus Date: 04 Mar 12 - 02:51 PM Dick Appleton, Tim knows very well, as Dick teaches Tim how to play guitar. Dick is from Grimsby and a fine guitarist and singer and songwriter. He has teamed up with a very nice fiddle player called Tracy. |

Subject: RE: Anyone heard this duo before ? From: Tim Leaning Date: 04 Mar 12 - 06:58 PM No not had lessons for a while now . I only play once a month at Grimsby Write Note. I must admit Dick does look younger since I stopped going to see him.. |
Subject: RE: Anyone heard this duo before ? From: katlaughing Date: 04 Mar 12 - 11:23 PM That's absolutely beautiful! Thanks for posting it. On my list to learn the fiddle part once I get my bows fixed. Beautiful scenery, too! |

Subject: RE: Anyone heard this duo before ? From: GUEST,Tracey - that fiddle player! Date: 08 Mar 12 - 02:56 AM Thanks for posting the link to Saddleworth, Tim. Dick and I are both really taken aback with the response to it. It had over 200 hits within 24hrs of putting it up there. Dick's an amazing guitarist and songwriter, and it's great to be working with him. It's totally different to the stuff I'm doing with Merlin's Keep, and I'm right out of my comfort zone, with wacky tuning and the like, but loving it. Dick / Tracey are getting out and about now. We've been working hard to put a set or two together, and the work's now starting to come in. Anyone interested in checking out our live performances, the gigs will appear on our Facebook site (thanks for that too, Tim). If you're interested in booking us, get in touch! We're looking forward to the adventure. |
