Unsuccessful male fruit-flies drink more alcohol than those which have successfully mated.

Time flies like an arrow, fruit fies like bananas, tits like coconuts?

Even a tiny being like this can experience rejection. I could have been a contender...

This needs consideration, but for starters:

I was having a drink in my favourite joint, (elbow)
When a fruit fly comes in and says "What's the point
My sex-life's shot, I'm getting none at all
I'm looking for some blood containing alcohol!"
