Subject: Lyr Add: Loss of the Cecelia March 2012 From: mg Date: 07 Apr 12 - 07:28 AM Our most recent tragedy..based on comments in Chinook observer and young waitress in restaurant,,friend in paper said she wished she lived in some town where they did not know what lost at sea meant. forgot a line and will add later..not inc luding his name at this time. I wish I lived in Phoenix or some hot and dusty town Where the ocean did not roar at night and no one had to drown Where fish were raised in fish tanks as fish were meant to be tell them And no one had to risk their lives going out to sea Where lost at sea meant nothing but a quaint and empty phrase And not a search and rescue that went on and on for days And you walked the beach at sunrise in case something should wash in You go to your reunion and something is amiss You say there are some young men gone I never got to kiss I never got to tell them just what they meant to me I never got to beg them stay home stay home from sea As you eat your fish and chips your sushi or your taco THink on how that fish was caught by someone from Ilwaco Or Cannon Beach or Seaside or McGowan or Chinook And the very fish you're eating was the lsat one on his hook So here's to the Cecilia and her brave and gentle crew And mostly >>>>>>> he's the only one I knew This was their joy and calling and the sea was their delight But the whole town is in morning since their ship went down that night |
