Aaand - I'm unemployed. ITT has closed its doors nationwide. Anybody need a random psych professor?

Think of it as part of the transitioning process maybe? The universe guiding you to work in which you get on with your transition and continue toward greater inner wholeness, or something? Wishing you positive thoughts and good fortune.

Mrrzy, How much do you charge for a psych diagnosis?

Buy one get one free?

Lucy charged 5 cents but with inflation today that is $20

You could incorporate under the dept of education and sell advice , like a Psych monitor.

You could open a revenge service and use volunteers.

You could charge fees via the internet to put voo doo curses on Trump/Hillary.

Open an exclusive internet dating service for medical personelle to join knowing they are short of time.

Open a lyric request service?

I was interrupted before I got to serious income streams. I/m still migraine woozy and bleary but I think the internet does have some real options for help beyond moral support.

That is why I suggested incorporating under the dept of education.
Freedom of speech protects you to speak. You may not be permitted to diagnose but when 22 vets are killing themselves everyday who needs to diagnose. There is no more risk than running a bar. Collaboration with WW is helpful. You may know that suffering vets often feel the need to have some sort of weapon, like a security blanket. General Practitioner referral notification is another safeguard.

Or one could sell election toys on pinterest.

Or sell hedge funds to protect $ should Trump win.

I think it will eventually be something you find fun that will be profitable.

Well, I have an interview - because of my French, which I learned through luck-of-the-draw when I was a wee bairn, and not because of anything I accomplished through my own scholarly efforts. But it's an interview!

So, yesterday, my niece is visiting and we take a pic, which (unbeknownst to me) she smart-phoned to the rest of the family.

Then my phone starts going off with messages from all my sisters and other niblings and thought, Oh shit, who died? before seeing any of the messages.

Then this morning, my cat dies.

Yeah, thanks, apparently it's not just me - last night while I was out Halloweening a drawer fell on my kid's sweetie's foot, this was at about 2 am this morning, it's now almost 11 and they are still not back from the ER, apparently surgery was involved.

Hi, Mrrzy. I will now pass along some tips on interviewing which I learned from a speaker who had been an HR person and had conducted many interviews.

1. Get your hair styled. (This was aimed at college students, most of whom let their hair just grow.)

2. Get your teeth cleaned, so you will feel more confident about smiling.

3. Smile during the interview, so the interviewer will picture you about the place, smiling.

I think the last thing is the most important.
=========
I'm sorry for your many misfortunes, but I hope the interview goes well.

Yes, eventually, there is now a boot, thank you! And some jet lag, or something akin. And then we have the election. And then we have the post-election. I am not thinking of relaxing any time soon, but at least everbody is in the same boat with me, sink or swim!

OK, so, I do live under a rock. I was getting calls from unrecognized numbers on the hour starting at 5 am, so I turned my phone off - and it was not one but TWO schools calling me with substitute needs. Merde alors. I coulda been working instead of ranting on the internet...

Does this count as "turning down work or offers of work" from the unemployment point of view? I'm kind of afraid to ask the actual people, in case the answer is yes.

Hi, Mrrzy. There's a reason why people invented lying.

If anybody says you were "turning down work," claim that you were reaching for the phone when awakened from deep sleep, and you knocked the phone to the floor, putting it out of commission until you.....

(Why doesn't a school identify itself? It could be trying to reach a parent about an emergency.)

And no good thing goes unpunished - finally got to sub, yay, in the public schools (which are not British public schools) - *and* the moved me from 3rd grade (South Park!) to preschool which I have at least done before if not in English...

...so, of course, my car was dead when I tried to leave. It's still there.

Me old mither once told me that most of the time when a car won't start, it's the battery. I hope that's all it is.

One way to find out: get a bunch of friends to push it to the top of the hill, get in, get 'er rolling in second gear with your foot on the clutch, and once it picks up a little speed, ease off the clutch and the engine will catch. A bit of driving and the battery should get back into order, unless it actually needs replacing.
Oh, wait, though, I don't know the automatic-car version of this…
If it's not the battery, the second most common thing is plugs 'n' points, which aren't a dear thing to fix.

Thompson (is that Dupont or Dupond?) - I have a stick, but it was on the flat. I didn't think it could be the battery but they tried to say it was, so I told them to look harder and they found the wire that connects the guggle to the zatch, or is it the frippin to the krotz, was loose... but I got it back for $100 including the non-tow, so hah.

Of course this morning they called and cancelled today's job, but hey, I'm ON. THE. LIST. And my car runs. Lah di dah.

Definitely your gris-gris is nudging you to go and visit France. I see you can fly from New York to Paris next month for $220 on Wow airline; you could get an AirBnB room in Paris and if the gris-gris are with you, you could land a job while you're there ;)

So, I went to NoVa for tea, to meet a family into which one of my nieces is marrying, and someone totalled my car on my way back to the highway. No injuries - I was sitting waiting to go left, they pulled up and sat to my right waiting to go left, and when traffic cleared they forgot I was there and just went, so the entire length of their car scraped the entire length of my car. But insurance says 2 doors and some frame work are more than my car is worth, and it took me FOREVER to find a stickshift.

My mom bought me that car just before she died, too.

How are your lives? Any of you French, for instance, and how's that Brexit going for you who are Brits?
