The plans are just about finished and wow impressive for a free festival, the schedule is not out yet but I can say that we will be hosting the sing around on the Saturday afternoon after the Yorkshire Garland session, in the evening we will be on in the marquee at 20.45 for half an hour followed by Holly Tamar (recently booked to appear on Later with Jools Holland this summer) who is followed by Miles Cain (who has already done the Jools Holland gig and other TV stuff) the final Act I think is King Courgette. Lots of other stuff going on. Friday night in the Marquee I think is the York Songwriters showcase, a mixed session the other side of town (about a 3/4 of a mile away) in the Victoria Vaults, Nunnery lane. Sunday I expect Monkeys Fist will be hosting the sing around and be appearing in the Marquee along with a host of others. There will be the usual Folk club with an open list and a muso's session Saturday and Sunday as per usual....ooo Morris and rappers, indeed the full monty.
AND ALL FREE. There will be buckets going around for donations for towards the expenses of the Black Swan Folk Club non of the acts appearing get paid and are broadly part of the York folk scene or supporters of the Black Swan Folk Club

There is a regular campsite in bishopthorpe a couple of miles down the river, don't know how many of our lot will be up but there is always indoor camping at ours mate and with luck maybe even a spare bed, 2BS&S don't get back from Canada until the early hours Friday morning - Heathrow , and back in around 2 pm, the mrs will throw a hissyfit cos the house isn't turned round, I think daughter and family are house sitting whilst we are away but we have a spare room which we use as storage at the Mo, you are welcome to find a space in there if we haven't a bed. We live about a mile away from Black Swan, a £5 cab ride split three ways others hang around for a bus and use bus passes!

Phew, weird day, I was hallucinating by midnight, I put it down to jet lag! Brilliant day even if I struggled to hear myself for the first song ......Argh! Found out the cause after but hey no one seemed to notice the screw up! Great to see Linda and Pistachio and even greater treat to hear them sing. All in all a great day in spite of the rain. Will be missing most of today visiting a relly in hospital in Middlesborough

Back to work bright and breezy UGH!!!! It was good to catch up with old friends and making new ones, made a convert too, lovely girl, gazed into my eyes and said " If only you were forty years younger" I was speechless for once! Oh, she had heard 2BS&S earlier and bought a cd never listened to stuff like it before, very smitten with the music! Terry, I either got it wrong or i really got it wrong, I will pm about the two girls if you're interested not going to discuss it in the open forum!

Really enjoyed what I saw of the weekend - I was on in the afternoon on saturday, then had to leave for another gig elsewhere in the evening. It was fun to meet up with friends there, like Gerry and Ani MacNeice,Gerry Cooper,Brian Stafford etc etc. I know I had a fair few supporters in the audience, but also some who'd never seen me perform before and as I looked out at them their faces registered a strange mixture of astonishment and terror.I think I was about two songs into my set when the monsoon descended - so powerful was the rain that I could hardly hear myself, and it poured through the canopy in various places.I like a challenge - as long as I can overcome it!
Thanks to Roland and everyone for their efforts.

Gloria, I saw you as you breezed in, I was performing elsewhere during your set so missed it. your comment "astonishment and terror" made me chuckle a bit.
