Subject: RE: Tech: Google Unavailable? From: Richard Bridge Date: 12 Apr 12 - 08:57 AM Google is fine. Navigate to www.google.co.uk. If you can't do that you probably have a hijacker so you'll need to run an antimalware program. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Google Unavailable? From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 12 Apr 12 - 08:55 AM Other people have had this problem Fergie. This google.groups thread: How do I solve the "404 not found nginx" error? suggests that something has modified your hosts file (possible Qhosts trojan). There are instructions for removing the offending lines from the hosts file in that thread (if you're using windows). Run your AV software if you've got some, if not try one of the online scanners; fixing the hosts file may not remove the cause if you've got some malware. Mick |
Subject: Tech: Google Unavailable? From: Fergie Date: 12 Apr 12 - 08:44 AM Hi all, I've being having a problem with Google search engine for the past few days and I need some advice/help. Google is my home page so when I connect to the net I go there automatically. Over the past few days when I connect to the net a white screen with the following message appears "503 Service Temporally Unavailable" beneath this are the letters nginx. If I go to gmail via the favorites and try to use the Google search facility there by typing google.com and clicking "search the web" option the message I get is; "Page Not Found" "The page does not exist". Surely Google has not been unavailable for the past two days without some sort of notification? And if it is, as I suspect available, what the hell is up with my PC? Fergus |
