Subject: Tech: Bad filename in ABCexplorer? From: Chris Partington Date: 13 Apr 12 - 04:24 PM Hi. Trying to install ABCexplorer on a Vista computer seems to work all right, except that when it's all done and the icons are where they should be, attempting to start the program fails and brings up the message:- "Context:MAIN Bad filename or number" Trying to run it in XP compatibility mode makes no difference, nor does re-installing. I successfully loaded it onto a different computer yesterday, running XP. Where do I go from here please? |

Subject: RE: Tech: Bad filename in ABCexplorer? From: Stanron Date: 02 Sep 12 - 01:07 PM I suspect you need to find a version that is written for Vista. I've got stuff that works on XP but won't run on Vista or Windows 7. Have you tried ABC Navigator? It's free and available online. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Bad filename in ABCexplorer? From: Chris Partington Date: 02 Sep 12 - 02:16 PM The problem was solved, but I can't remember what it was other than that a simple solution was found or the problem went away or something! I haven't heard of any other instances apart from the one two posts back so it doesn't seem to be a problem with ABCexplorer and Vista. |
