From: Bobert

What's wrong with Ted Nugent these days???

Well, I'm glad you asked... First of all, it ain't these days... He's been a sociopath going back a long time... I mean, I met the guy in the 60's in Detroit and guess what???

Give up???

Ted was a sociopath back then... Thought the Earth revolved around him... Plus, he and his band sucked...

As for his patriotism??? Word on the street is that he was inducted and employed the poo-your-pants-and-act-like-a-dick defense and the Army just gave up on him as the sociopath he is...

So now he wants to cut the head of Obama... You know, being the patriot that he is...

Here's a better idea... Cut off Ted's dick so he can't bring any more sociopathic pants-poo'in lyin' creeps into the world...

Have a nice day, Mr. Nugent...

BTW, I changed my mind on busting up your lousy record...

Bobert

Where do such people get the idea that their opinion is any more valid than anyone Else's?
JAIL OR DEAD HE SAYS, OK, HOW ABOUT THE LOONIE BIN?

Hell, at least half the people on this forum think their opinion is more valid than anybody else's! It's a very common attitude in human beings.

I think Nugent just likes engaging in hyperbole, because it gets him attention and gives him an adrenalin rush.

And I think that's why people on this forum do it too. ;-D Being angry is a hobby for some individuals. Or it's an addiction. They feel more alive when they're angry.

People on this forum don't advocate cutting people's heads off... Nugent shouldn't get a pass because he thinks it's part of his persona and self promotion...

When we allow this kinda of speech it ends up being used over and over by people who just need another justification for their hate and that leads to people thinking it's okay to gun folks down...

There was a general store/quick stop back in Virginia that I frequented because they sold the Washington Post... Well, every morning Redneck Nation hung out in there and, well, Ted Nugent didn't have anything on these folks... I can't bring myself to repeat the stuff that I heard... It got especially bad when people weren't being called down for yelling "Hang him" in reference to Obama at the Palin rallies...

It's one thing to passionately disagree but quite another to threaten violence and that is a lesson that the right needs to revisit... This isn't the 19830s and this isn't Germany but the right in this country is using some of the same tactics that the brown-shirts used and no one in their camp is standing up and saying, "enough is enough"...

Shane McBride was planning to upstage Ted Nugent by saying awful things about Stephen Harper on Sunday afternoon, but it didn't happen. There's a rumour about that he fell or got pushed into a vat full of boiling cooking oil over at the Tim Horton's in Blind River and was fatally burned beyond recognition. If so, there will be much mourning all over Ontario.

Well, some anyway. At least a little mourning here and there. A tear or two, for sure.

The rumour is false. They no longer use fat fryers in Tim's. The donuts are made centrally and trucked in. Shane is likely OK. Of course, if he nodded off on the griddle, he's fucked.

Whew! That's a relief. I guess Rapparee was just telling tall tales again.

I figure what really happened is that Shane drank too much on Saturday night, slept in on Sunday, and missed his own big media event.

This is why Ted Nugent is famous and Shane isn't. Ted shows up for his own media events.

Please don't take this as support for Ted Nutsack, but:

The specific line about "cutting off heads" was about "cutting off heads" in November , which makes it a fairly plain, if miserably phrased, reference to voting against somebody.
The rest of the speech was so indefensible that it may not be worth making that distinction, but I guess I can detest the guy enough for what he really said without pushing things further.

When my generation were teenagers back in the 70's
UK music media was a powerful influential voice.
Especially the weekly paper NME...

UK music press despised & vilified Ted Nugent for his ultra right wing cave man survivalism values
and dinosaur era heavy rock.

We were impressionable politically progressive punk rock / new wave kids
so consequently refused to ever listen to any of his music.

Until last year, when out of curiosity I listened to a cheap CD box set of his key 1970's LPs.

I was surprised by what I heard, probably one of the best heavy riffing classic rock style guitarist I've ever experienced.

His tone was amongst the best ever.

It's so sad that instead of being seriously respected as one of the essential guitarists of the late 20th Century
he blew it all away by being such a colossal arsehole....

..file him away with the likes of Gary Glitter as music to be enjoyed
dispite the artist being despicable beyond redemption..

Alas! He has not even mastered air guitar.

Gotta disagree about "Cat scratch Fever"

the 45 rpm single version is classic 70's rock..

But saying that, who in their right mind ever stand up to defend any aspect of Knobhead Nugent's vile personality and politics..

Wouldn't be that far removed from risking uttering in public

"Ok, he was a complete evil c**t

They are actually my favorite band...evah. This concert will be my 19th. Now that Dennis DeYoung is out of the band they have a much more "rock" sound.

This music talk reminds me of how difficult it can be to boycott something, or someone. For example, Tori Spelling, who I think is a substandard acting person, was in some ole movie that I thought I might want to see because there were actually some GOOD people in it. But then, wouldn't I also be inadvertently supporting her, too?

So with this musical event. Hypothetically, if I liked Styx and REO and wanted to see them, but did NOT want to give my money to Ted Dipshit, I would not be able to do both.

Ahh, such is life.

Styx proved why techno-rock belonged to the Brits. When American bands tried to do techno-rock, it made me want to vomit. Styx, Kansas, Starcastle--yech. Rush sort of went in that direction but not as far. I'll give them a B...minus.

Rush was okay. I just wished they didn't put on airs of being techno-rock. They were a good straight-up rock band. I had nothing against Zeppelin although I stopped listening to them after Physical Graffiti. Presence, Coda and like that just sounded like a band past its prime. The first 6 releases though were pretty good.

The definition of terrible are songs like "Dust in the Wind" and "Come Sail Away." The latter song made no sense. Some guy reminiscing about his past staring out over a lake or the ocean and then a UFO abducts him and takes him on a singalong or something--what the hell is that shit?

I remember the graduating class after mine chose that as their class song. All I could do was laugh when I heard about it. It's a song with throwaway lyrics. My class chose "Imagine" and I wasn't happy about that but it's certainly better than "Come Sail Away." I wrote in the Stooges "No fun" and was surprised to learn it was the write-in favorite but it didn't win. That's because its lyrics were FAR more factual about life after high school than all this idealistic shit people voted for that they didn't really believe in themselves.
