This amused me greatly.
Mike, you're back in the news again, after only about 40 years!

I saw Mike Absalom at the Grass Roots Folk Club in Halifax sometime in the 1980s I think, Mike was the guest that night and Christy Moore did a floor spot, and the cheeky bugger sang one of Mike Absalom's songs,
London West 14

I saw him the once - in Scarborough (famous Penthouse Club) in 1969. I think the term 'stoner music' could well have been invented for him! Great stuff. 'Save The Last Gherkin For Me' = a great album title. He's now a well-respected artist living in Ireland, and had an exhibition in Liverpool a year or two back.

Yes he did. I taped it in 1970 at The Talbot in Church Street if you want a copy.

I think the last time I saw Mike was at Steve Benbow's club at Norbury in 1970. One of my favourite songs of his was 'Royal Borough Blues'... I'm glad he's still around and doing well.

First experienced Mike Absalom in a pub in Robin Hood's Bay in approx late summer 1978
when a mate borrowed his Dad's car and we took 2 girls we fancied off up north on a dirty camping weekend.

Brilliant few days..

We went up there as quite inexperienced teenagers and came back home as 'men'..
thanks girls wherever you may be now...???

and thanks also to whoever lent us the tent...

Saw Mike Absalom's show, including the "Punch 'n' Judy" routine
a few more times over the next 2 or 3 years in pubs around Leeds Uni.
