Twas good to experience the festival as a punter - a practice which I intend to continue!
Saw a superb procession for the first time and visited the Cricket Club for the first time although I'm not sure I'll repeat that one!!
Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican are on my 'must see again' list. Jaywalkers and Shitnitz great fun and I echo Hamish's views of the Young Folks' Open Mic. The venue suited and the kids were many and talented.
One thing we noticed was that there were lots of young folks around and involved - the tradition and its advancement seem to be safe.

Yea really good to see everyone again!

Picturedrome was a bit of a melly for me an old traddie.
old Bridge concert room ran as a folk club by David Cowan and Marj Paterson of Fyrish, their Swan song as they are moving back up Scotland. They will be missed greatly in the area and will be hard act to follow as performers and Hff Hosts!

Well done at Hff Dave and Marj!

Brambles I echo Hamish's comments nicely run pub as a restaurant with lots of younger keen waiters etc

Bawdy songs went well and I did not want to hog the session as some brill singers ~ nice to see a contingent from the North East!

Fab as always! Well done to the post-Cath committee :-) Personal highlights were, in no particular order: getting the steps for the bouree sorted at the Blowzabella "ceilidh"; the fab sound in the church for the Sunday lunchtime concert (thanks, Darren(?)); the much improved White-Hart-now-Brambles for the Young Person's open mic - and the great young talent that participated and supported the afternoon; the Nook for the uke workshop (Nook Ukes, anybody?); generally mooching around and bunmping into friends old and new...

...and not forgetting John of String Theory for lending me a guitar at the cricket club when the "new" battery I'd put in the night before suddenly died on me.

We went last weekend for the regular Sunday night session and bought a programme locally. It is looking good! Very friendly festival and rooted in the community , locals love it

There's lots more information and detail in the printed programme, which is available to buy at various venues in the town, but obviously a bit difficult to get hold of ahead of time if you don't live locally. I guess they'll be on sale at the festival office just inside the Old Bridge once events get underway next Friday.
