This from Chetham's Library website :

"The Robert Holt Collection of Manchester Street Songs and Ballads

We have recently bought a large collection of street songs and ballads published in Manchester and the North West during the mid-nineteenth century. The collection was made by the antiquarian bookseller Robert Holt, who died in 1883, and contains over four hundred broadsides containing around 940 individual songs, many being in local dialect or relating to specific local characters and events.

The collection was purchased from the bookseller Michael Kemp of Sheerness in Kent, and thanks to his hard work we are able to offer several indexes as pdfs. In the long term our aim is to digitise the whole collection as part of a wider digitisation project of all the street songs and ballads in Manchester libraries, but in the meantime these finding aids give a good indication of what is available."
