Make Room For Mummers - The Fiery Dragon Folk Opera Company

A newly written opera by Anne Gregson which is based on the play performed by Widcombe Mummers of Bath.

Narrated in song by the legendary King Bladud, who founded the city of Bath, and his fair Queen, Mrs Bladud, it tells the story of a brave knight called George and the beautiful Egyptian Princess who is hunted by a dreadful fiery Dragon, another brave but unfortunate knight called Bold Slasher, and a doctor who is so skilled that he can bring the dead to life again.

The opera will be preceded by The Accidentals A choir led by Lizzie Hales and Fran Ringer.

A performance will be given on Friday 8th June at the Michael Tippett Centre at Bath Spa University at 7.30. Admission is free.

I should also mention that there will be a performance of the opera only at the Chippenham Folk Festival on Monday 4th June at The Cause at 3 pm.
