I never thought before, but there might be people here who want to adjust the volume and pan of instruments in MIDI files.

My program MIDI Wizard will do this by allowing you to drag and drop icons left and right, and towards or away from the "microphone".

my music software page and let me know what you think of the idea - I wrote this about 10 years ago.
